 — Dinant

The Abbey of Leffe is situated near Dinant, along the Meuse. It is famous for the Leffe beer. The abbey was famous for its beer from the mediaeval period, but sadly production came to a halt in 1794, during the time of the French Revolution when the abbey was abandoned and brewery closed. Brewing revived in the twentieth century, but nowadays the Leffe beer is brewed in the main Stella Artois brewery in Leuven (Louvain).
