Snapshots Japan Crow 1

Kings of urban jungle

Crows are found everywhere in Japan, and if the urban landscape were a jungle, then the crows are probably the kings of the jungle. They are clever birds, which seem to learn new tricks all the time. Some of them started to place small stones on railway tracks, seemingly for fun. It’s been theorized that they used the passing train to crack a nut at first and then progressed onwards.

Another big problems with crows is rubbish. They feast on scraps of food, and they have been very good at seeing through various human attempts to prevent them from reaching the rubbish bags or various methods devised by humans to scare them away from the rubbish collection points.

It is rare for them to attack humans, but it does happen, and I certainly wouldn’t liked to be pecked by them.
